Making sand in Meanwood Park
As part of our big question (Where in the world would you like to go on holiday?) we learnt about how sand is formed through erosion, which is our new topic word of the week. We embarked on a trip to the quarry in Meanwood park to explore the rocks and stones there and had a go at grinding the rocks to make our own sand. The children reflected upon the most effective tools and methods that they used to make sand.
