Year 1 had a brilliant trip to Harlow Carr to support our science topic on plants. We learned about the lifecycle of a plant and acted out what happens to a seed. We then went on an adventure to the greenhouse and planted our own seeds. Next we went on a trail to spot different flowers and investigate the parts of a plant. We developed our science investigation skills by making observations and recording our findings. Everyone had lots of fun measuring the length of stems, drawing leaves, counting flowers and even trying to name different plants we found. Next we learned about trees and worked out their age by hugging them! After lunch everyone enjoyed a well earned play in the Spiders Nest Play Area.
