In our Literacy work we have been learning the story of “The Little Red Hen” by creating story maps and using actions and special story telling language to help us. This week, we decided to recycle the story by creating a different main character called the Very Little Bear. The Little Red Hen wanted to make bread, but none of her friends would help her. In our story, the Very Little Bear wanted to make a swimming pool but his friends were too busy to help. We changed the ending as well as the children thought the bear would get bored swimming alone. We all loved creating our own recycled story as a class. Take a look at some of our children retelling it.
