Spring

Misty Mountains by JRR Tolkien

Far over the misty mountains cold
To dungeons deep and caverns old
The pines were roaring on the height,
The winds were moaning in the night.
The fire was red, it flaming spread;
The trees like torches blazed with light.

Misty Mountains

This is a scene from the film 'The Hobbit' adapted from a poem by JRR Tolkien.
JRR Tolkien took inspiration from Anglo Saxon epics and story telling.
Tales of heroes and brave adventures would have been shared around the fire on cold winter's evenings.
