Leaf printing
As an introduction to our new big question, we have begun to spot the seasonal changes that are occurring. We went into the playground and collected leaves that had already fallen. We named sycamore, oak, horse chestnut, beech and elm leaves and looked at the different shapes and colours. We even collected sycamore keys and beech seed pods. Children enjoyed looking closely at the veins in the leaves and they have been very busy printing using the leaves. We have begun to talk about why birds migrate (our word of the week!).
