History Pop Up Museum: The 1960s

Year 1 presented all their learning from this term’s history topic on  “What life was like when our Grandparents were little” in the the 1950s and 1960s. Children showcased their work on the Monarchy and explained how school, music and toys were different when their grandparents were little. We ran a competition to match the child to the grandparent’s photo and challenged parents to plot key events on a history timeline. Children presented their pop art inspired by Andy Warhol and had a street party with scones to celebrate the Queen’s Coronation. We even made a mock up school from the 1960s and invited parents and grandparents to step back in time, dress up in 1960s fashion and have a photo taken in our photo booth.
