Harlow Carr trip

Year 3 enjoyed a beautifully sunny trip to Harlow Carr to put our science learning into action. We started our day by calculating the age of the tree by measuring its girth and dividing the answer by 2.5. The oldest tree we found was 96 years old! We listened to birdsong and tried to identify the bird. After lunch we visited the apiary to see hundreds of bees busy making honey. It was fascinating to see all the bees and hear the buzzing. We then went on a flower treasure hunt to see what spring flowers we could spot. Finally, we ended our trip by visiting the play area.
It was fun packed, tiring day.
