First Day in Year 5
Well, what a fantastic start to Year 5. We discussed all of the exciting things we had been doing over the holidays, spoke about the year ahead and how we will keep safe in school. After break, we wrote our new class rules and completed our class portraits. A highlight was challenging the children to use their knowledge of 3D shapes to create stable, tall structures out of sweets and cocktail sticks. It was brilliant to see such creativity and team work. There are definitely some budding architects in the class! We finished the day in a sea of maps as we explored the UK, located Whitby and begun to understand what you can find there. An enjoyable first day for all!
