Bird Watching

The children were keen to see if we could spot any species of British birds that we have been learning about this half term in our playground and surrounding areas. A group of children decided to make a bird-hide to watch birds from and recorded the number of birds that they saw. We had photographs of different bird species displayed in our outdoor learning area to help us to identify the birds that we saw. The children spotted blackbirds, wood pigeons, crows, sparrows, magpies and robins. The children are keen to find out if they spot any more birds in our playground once we hang up the bird-feeders that they made.
