Open Minds
Open minds are key towards a good education by encouraging the seeking of wisdom, knowledge, truth, understanding and the skills needed to shape life well. Wisdom, knowledge and understanding are regarded as virtues in many religions, not just Christianity. The Bible teaches God is the source of wisdom, knowledge and understanding, ‘It is the Lord who gives wisdom; from him come knowledge and understanding.’ (Proverbs 2:6).
Open minds foster a healthy culture for diversity and allow everyone to share their views and wisdom in a hospitable way, allowing healthy debate and the broadening of understanding. ‘Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God—what is good and acceptable and perfect.’ (Romans 12:2).
