In Autumn 2 we are learning:
In Writing we will be writing diary entry during the Blitz
In Maths we will begin with Fractions
In Reading we will cover a range of fiction, non-fiction and poetry texts
In PE we will be learning netball and gymnastics
In RE we will be learning about the birth of Jesus
In PSHE we are learning about keeping safe
In History are learning about the events WWII
In Science we will be learning about Light
In Computing we are learning about analysing and collaborating
In French we are continuing our work on school life and learning to express and justify our opinions (on school uniform!)
In Music we will singing Christmas songs building up to our appearance in Church
History: World War II
To enrich our learning on World War II, Year 6 visited Thwaite Mill in Leeds for a an immersive look back in time through series of workshops. Children experienced an air raid siren, a blackout and even went inside an Anderson shelter. They weighed out rations, looked at old coins and talked about evacuees. It was a brilliant day and really supported our learning.
