We have had a fantastic day in Year One learning about our author Beatrix Potter and her book, “A Tale of Peter Rabbit”. We started the day by making carrot cakes and the children worked in teams to read the recipe, weigh out the ingredients and follow the method. Then the children learnt the story, sequenced the story in their books and wrote some lovely character profiles on Peter Rabbit. After lunch we decorated our carrot cakes and enjoyed making our very own Peter Rabbits! We finished the day with circle time games and a story. All the children have been absolutely wonderful all day, showing our CARE values and working well together, with lots of smiles and laughter!
