A Statement from the Governing Body

As Governors, we acknowledge how challenging it is for parents at the moment, trying to balance work and home-learning and wanting to give your children reassuring messages about when they might return to school. The mixed messages from the Government and the media continue to make things very uncertain for everyone.

As Governors we have a responsibility for the health, safety and welfare of all. We currently have to adhere very strictly to Government Guidelines and the risk assessments that have been produced for school's wider re-opening. Some parents have asked if school can enable some virtual live contact to take place between teachers and those pupils who are not returning to school just yet. One of our safeguarding measures is to prevent Staff from using any form of ICT to communicate with children face to face, however. Zoom, Facetime, Teams etc are not allowed between home and school, to safeguard both children and Staff alike. We appreciate that parents will be disappointed by this but hope that they will understand our decision.
Governors thank the Staff for the incredible amount of work that has been done both during lockdown and to reopen the school to more children.
