WW2 trip to Thwaite Mills
On the 28th November, year 3 visited Thwaite Mills. They learnt about the history of the working mill and what important roll it played throughout the war. As it was a targeted by the Germans, It had a large anti-aircraft gun located on site. The children's learning was also brought to life when then experienced rationing through the weighing out of the foods that were listed in ration books. They also experienced what it would be like during a blackout and the types of gas masks that had to be worn.
