World Food Day - China
On World Food Day 2012 Reception class learnt all about China. We learnt lots of interesting facts about the country and enjoyed listening to the story about the monster Nian. Thoughout the morning the children took part in lots of different activities. They made a lion finger puppet to remind them of Nian. They prepared and tasted spring rolls with Luca's Mum who kindly came into class to help us and we all thought they were delicious. Also the children tasted congee (rice and water) and learnt how poor families in China would eat this food as you didn't need much rice to be able to feed a whole family. It is safe to say we all preferred the spring rolls to congee! Well done to all the children for tasting the congee and for making World Food Day 2012 a fantastic day.
