Piglets Adventure Farm, York
We all enjoyed an amazing day at Piglets Adventure Farm. Our morning began with learning all about fruits and vegetables and we also had the chance to plant our own beans which we were able to bring back to school to watch them grow. We had a tour of the farm and saw lots of different farm animals including sheep, lambs, pigs, piglets, donkeys, highland cows, goats, rabbits to name a few! We all got to hold a guinea pig and some of us gave a lamb a bottle! We learnt that a female donkey is called a Jenny and a male donkey is called a Jack. We all fed the donkeys carrots by throwing pieces onto the grass so they didn't bite our fingers.
During our lunch we were able to play on all of the playground equipment. We loved bouncing on the trampolines, building sand castles in the huge sand pit, racing around a track in go-karts and playing crazy golf.
After our lunch break we all had a trailer ride where Farmer Geoff towed us behind his tractor and showed us some more pigs with her piglets and the land he used to grow crops. Farmer Geoff wanted us to do some work for him and pick carrots that we could take home to our parents. He loosened the soil for us to help us pick the carrots.
We couldn't believe how quickly our day had gone as we had so much fun. On the coach back to school lots of children fell to sleep after such an action-packed day.
