Year 1 have been studying Elizabeth I and life in Tudor times. We had a fantastic time on our trip to Temple Newsam, learning about everyday life for rich and poor, dressing as Tudors, sketching Good Queen Bess and practising our royal waves! Many thanks to Shelley, Emma and Debbie at TN and to all our adult helpers for making the trip such an enjoyable one. Elizabethan cookery followed swiftly after and we topped off our History fortnight with a superb dress up afternoon, complete with Tudor dancing fit for a queen! I am so proud of the children - they have really worked hard and shown how much they have learnt. Also, their behaviour on the trip was exemplary - well done Year 1!
