Brilliant Buddies
Every Reception child has been allocated a Year 6 buddy to help the new children feel safe and happy at Meanwood CE Primary School. Even in the first week of term, our 'brilliant buddies' have cared for the younger children at play times and lunch times ensuring they know what to do and where to go. Nothing is too much for our Year 6 children, who are making a huge difference especially in the dinner hall, where they help the children understand the colour coded band system, queue up for their food to cutting up their food and ensuring they have a full stomach at the end! We can see the positive effect our 'brilliant buddies' are having already on our school community and our reception class are certainly in very good hands.
